Overview of Paired Fibers
ISS has many emitter fibers and detector bundles for developing your own sensor.
The standard individual emitter fiber comes with a SMA connector on one end and bare-cleaved fiber on the other end. The fiber type is 400 µm-diameter core, plastic clad silica with a standard length of 2.5 m. Other fiber lengths are available upon request. The standard fiber bundle for the collection of light and delivery to the PMT detector is a 3 mm bundle with a standard length of 2.5 m. Other fiber lengths are available upon request.
